deadline for the first phase is expected to be 2019.

recovery of a beautiful idol of Bhagwan Chandra Prabhu – the Eighth Jain
Tirthankara at the site. The 15-inch idol is built of white stone and stands
along with another black-stone idol of the Bhagwan in Padmasana pose, which was
discovered near the temple at a later date. Both the idols are installed in a
serene and beautiful temple, rectangular in shape, and possessing marvelous
architectural features. The idols themselves are exquisitely carved and have an
innate brilliance that seems to touch the heart of every visitor who knocks on
the doors of the temple. The recovery of the idols, say historians, proves that
Tijara was an important Jain pilgrimage centre that was destroyed in the
medieval period.
Locals
believe that the town has grown and prospered ever since the discovery of the
idols of Bhagwan Chandra Prabhu. It is also widely believed that Darshan of the
shrine gives immense peace to the mind. Devotees also believe that the ghee of
the AkhandaJyoti and the dust of the site where the idol was found has magical
properties and can cure of ills and sorrow.

temple is also known for its stunning work of glass and colorful paintings
based on mythological characters.
